Many of you may be familiar with the world of psychology/mental health treatment as well as some things about anxiety, depression, addictive behaviors, traumatic stress, toxic stress, post-traumatic stress disorder, trauma, attention deficits, bi-polar disorders and more. 1 in 4 adults, approximately 61.5 million americans, experience mental illness in a given year. 60 percent of them go without getting help. Many people don't know that they, or their loved one needs help. Often times the person is believed to be 'moody, difficult, lazy, can't make their dreams come true because they can't get organized or they are self-medicating their emotional pain with food, alcohol, drugs and/or other addictive behaviors.'
As a clinician in the mental health field and a practitioner of meditation since age 11, it has often been my practice to assimilate the world of psychology/mental health with the world of well-being practices, self-development and the principals that motivational speakers often present on in workshops. Using this diverse approach to aid in balancing an individual's mental health and well-being offers skills needed to unlock the 'stuck' mind, body and soul. Once this is accomplished, then you can more easily use the motivational skills that help to create a happy and successful life. Perhaps we as a society are uncomfortable putting the words 'self-development and motivation' with 'mental health and well-being,' however, it is time to shift our awareness to the fact that our health is one with our mental health and well-being. Having a practical step-by-step plan and process for healing, balancing and creating a life you will love, is a crucial component in your ongoing enjoyment of your life.
Integrative mental health and well-being programs bring together traditional and integrative mental health modalities along with self-development approaches. These modalities assist individuals in using their strengths and managing their deficits. Each participant will be taught the skills and tools needed to balance their mind, body/brain and spirit so individuals can create a life they will enjoy living. Understanding what is going on in the mind, body and soul allows individuals to best manage what is not working in their lives, at the same time, learning new ways of developing and balancing their well-being.
You will learn a practical plan and process to experience your highest state of good health and well-being. Developing relationships with: your body/brain, mind, spirituality, nutrition, learning/education, work/life's purpose, money, acts of service, relationships (with people), and fun, which are the cornerstones for building a fulfilling and happy life.
